Break the ice question : If you could only take 3 types of chocolate to a desert island what would they be?
Hates chocolate ! But if had to take some it would be white chocolate, something with almonds and chocolate chip

Notes :
- Has attended 2 immersive / experiential gastronomical events pre-pandemic
- 2019 - Scum and Villany Cantina - Games of Thrones Theme drinking party - 2 week duration - really pumped to go
- 8 people
- set pieces at the bar, booths with that represented a house from the shows, music, special food and drinks tied to the show, photo booth
- Free - just show up to the bar and wait. First come , first serve ; arrived
- Found out about this event through Scum and Villany’s Instagram - ran for 2 weeks . GOT take over
- Arrived at 7ish or 8 pm and there was a huge line - huge line made him question if it was worth it. Waited an hour and asked himself if it was worth but because he is a huge fan of GOT and everyone in his party they were ok with waiting it out. The line was overwhelming and it was crowded . He feels it should be expected to wait a long time for things like this but if event has budget, having actors be in character interacting with people or music or have TVs along the line for people to watch and wait
- After the event Scum and villany cantina did announce to them there would other themes in the future so check it out .
- Didn’t follow up with them after because COVID hit, then once things opened back up they had themes but he wasn’t really in the mood to be back in a bar and the themes weren’t anything that he or his friends were psyched about
- for him to get motivated to go is for these events to have a big online presence on social media
- Emotions : First emotion was “FUCK” i gotta wait in this line when he first arrive. Then actually gets inside he feels excited because he sees the GOT chair and the bar with all the lighting. Surprised at how good the production was and happy because he got to nerd out about GOT and talk about work with his friends. He felt it was a regular bar but everything was GOT, people dressed up and production/lights.
- 2015/2016 - Murder Mystery on a Train and in stage/restaurant - went twice - doesn’t remember the name of company - not really into but went because of friends
- 6 people
- Never done stuff like this - had to be in the moment - friends convinced to go , let your guard down and disregard “this all bullshit” mentality. It’s theatrical and he’s not into it but he went all along with it. But the train he felt is was better because you were able to walk and back and forth versus just sit at a table.
- Once he arrived he got instructions , then they entered a room and you see the actors who are part of the murder mystery. The food was served, he ate and observed the script between the actors (head going back and forth) . Once done eating you have to be more interactive with the actors : pick a name - draw from a hat
- Booking : Very straight forward. Everything on a website. Gives you an idea what to expect in the show and you could book easily through the website. Easy not complicated
- End - they took a free group photo which they all could keep
- After the show : explained to them to keep up to date with their events through website. That’s how he went twice. The first event was at a house and then through their website he found out the event was going to take place on a train and he thought that was cool enough to go again. They rotated their shows 4-6 months and had a different theme.
- Didn’t continue going to the events because a lot of his friends who were into this moved out of LA and I didn’t want to spend time persuading others to go with him
- Emotions: complicated - he didn’t know what to expect, walking in blind to something he has never done. He was nervous that one of the actors was going to pick on him and he’d have to act. But eventually he was ok with it and had a good time. He was happy even though the food was meh but he thought he would have some drinks and laughing. Fun to interact with the actors .
Spitballing: He hates chocolate - what would make him go to immersive/chocolate tasting event? Make it fun - educate - tell me about the history of chocolate - visually educate me about the history of chocolate with a movie or something. Visuals are big and find out interactions too! How do you make chocolate ? Read about it here or watch this segment. Then there’s the next part where you say : Here’s the process on how you can make the chocolate... You create your own chocolate with their own flavors , name it, chocolate balls or whatever, eat them or take them home. Create chocolate molds! Have people create something and take it home so they can say “hey I made this, i created this!”
